Temperature Range

PTFE is able to endure extreme conditions. It maintains its integrity and performance at temperatures ranging from -260°C to 260°C (-436°F to 500°F). This makes it an excellent choice for applications where it will be exposed to both cryogenic and high-temperature environments. PVDF also has high thermal stability, although not to the same range as PTFE. PVDF typically withstands temperatures up to approximately 149°C (300°F).

Mechanical Strength

PVDF has greater tensile strength and rigidity than PTFE. Its mechanical properties make it particularly well suited for applications that require high structural integrity and durability under stress. It has excellent resistance to creep and deformation under load, maintaining its shape and performance even in demanding conditions. PTFE is flexible and has low friction properties but lower tensile strength. It is also more prone to deformation under mechanical stress. This makes PTFE less ideal for structural components subjected to constant load or pressure.
